PNG Air’s codeshare agreement with Virgin Australia just got a lot more attractive for PNG Air passengers.
Following PNG Air’s codeshare launch on Virgin Australia ights between Port Moresby and
Brisbane, PNG Air are now ready to commence the second stage enabling PNG Air passengers to travel onward to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, in addition to
Brisbane.
This is expected to commence from 30 September 2019.
According to PNG Air, from now on its passengers on codeshare Rights operated by Virgin Australia, between Port Moresby and Brisbane will be able to earn Velocity
Points and Status Credits.
Velocity Frequent Flyer is Virgin Australia’s award winning loyalty program and gives members range of ways to earn and redeem Velocity Points including on ights.
The third stage of the agreement will see Lae, Mt Hagen, Rabaul, Goroka, Popondetta, Tu, Lihir (Kunaye) and Kavieng linked with Brisbane, in addition to Port Moresby.
“So you can sip your coee and watch the stunning vista of Papua New Guinea unfold before you as you enjoy PNG Air’s service whilst starting or continuing your
journey to/from Australia.
This is expected to commence in mid-late September,” says PNG Air.
The last stage of the codeshare roll out will link PNG Air’s main destinations with Virgin Australia’s main domestic destinations, making the process of connecting from
Lihir or Goroka through to Sydney or Melbourne a lot less complicated and much more enjoyable.
