PNG's Lae Nadzab International Airport upgrade

Papua New Guinea's Morobe Province, will soon house a state of the art International Airport valued over PGK600 Million (JPY21,040 million). On Friday 29th November 2019, the National Airports Corporation (NAC) on behalf of the National Government awarded the main construction component (civil, building and associated works) to Dai Nippon – Nippo Joint Venture (JV) of Japan. 

The signing of the contract documents was witnessed by high delegates including the Minister for Aviation Hon. Capt. Lekwa GURE, Transport Minister Hon. William SAMB, Japan Ambassador H.E Satoshi NAKAJIMA and Chief Representative of JICA PNG Office Mr Takashi TOYAMA. The ground breaking for this mega project is expected to be early 2020, with all parties eager to complete the project by 2022.

 
The iconic Kundu Designed Nazab Airport, once completed will ease air transportation and more importantly generate economic growth in the country.
