Solomon Airlines has announced plans to expand its international flight schedule from March 2026, with new routes and increased frequencies linking the Solomon Islands with Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand.
The airline said the revised schedule is aimed at improving regional air connectivity and providing better travel options for leisure passengers, trade movements and government-related travel across the Pacific.
According to the airline, a weekly service between Honiara and Port Vila will resume from 30 March 2026. The Port Vila–Honiara flight will operate on Mondays, with return services from Honiara to Port Vila on Tuesdays, allowing onward connections between Auckland and Honiara via Port Vila in both directions.
Solomon Airlines also confirmed that a new weekly service between Honiara and Port Moresby will commence on 31 March 2026, operating on Tuesdays. The airline said the flight schedule has been timed to connect with international services between Port Moresby and major Asian hubs, while also enabling travel between Port Moresby and Port Vila via Honiara.
From 1 July 2026, the carrier will introduce twice-weekly direct flights between Christchurch and Port Vila. Flights from Port Vila to Christchurch will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with return services from Christchurch on Thursdays and Sundays.
The airline said services between Auckland and Port Vila will increase to four direct flights per week from 1 July 2026. For the period from late March to the end of June 2026, flights will operate three times weekly, before increasing to four weekly services from July onwards.
In Australia, Solomon Airlines will add a second weekly flight between Brisbane and Santo, complementing its existing Thursday service. The additional flight will operate on Saturdays from April to late June 2026, before switching to Tuesdays from July 2026 through to January 2027.
Solomon Airlines said minor timetable adjustments would be made to support the expanded schedule, adding that passengers affected by the changes would be contacted directly and offered alternative travel arrangements at no extra cost. The airline said the revised international schedule would be rolled out progressively from late March 2026.
