Air Niugini will resume all aircraft overnighting in Madang effective tomorrow, Saturday 13th July 2019.
Since the eruption of the Manam volcano on 28th June, Air Niugini had suspended all aircraft from overnighting in Madang. The situation has now improved and upon the airline’s own risk assessment, Air Niugini will now resume Madang overnight flights.
Air Niugini has flights staying overnight in Madang on a daily basis, operating as PX 112 from Port Moresby into Madang and returning early morning the following day as PX 113 to Port Moresby.
Meanwhile, Air Niugini continues to monitor Hoskins overnighting flights. The next review will be made on Monday to see if these overnight flights could also resume. In the meantime Hoskins day return flights are operating as normal.
